What is Stoopid For Books?
Stoopid For Books is a literacy initiative in Portland Oregon meant to bridge the summer learning gap.
Why is literacy so important?
Did you know only 46% of Oregon students meet 3rd grade reading benchmark? That number drops to 26% for Black students. This isn’t just a stat, this is a call to action.
How can my scholar be a part of Stoopid For Books?
Step 1: Register your scholar at the link below
Step2:Take a picture of your library card and the book that you are reading and send it to stoopidforbooks@fridayskidspdx.org
Step 3: Write a 2-3 paragraph summary in your own words about what you read and send it to stoopidforbooks@fridayskidspdx.org
Step 4: Go to Stoopid Burger and receive your reward.
